Whether it’s offering a credit card bail system to inmates or a VINE notification system to allow victims to check on the release of prisoners, The Westchester County Department of Correction is serving the public with an efficiently operated, secure and humane correction system.
The county’s jail complies with all local, state and Federal legal requirements as well as nationally accepted professional correctional standards.

The department is responsible for the custody of males and females 16 years and older who have been remanded by Westchester County or New York State courts.

Located in Valhalla, New York, the Westchester County Department of Correction encompasses nearly 1/2 mile, with more than 940,000 square feet of building space.

On January 1, 1969 the Westchester County Department of Correction was formed from units of the former Westchester County Sheriff's Department and the Westchester County Department of Social Services and placed under a central administration with a Commissioner appointed by the County Executive.

The Department is currently comprised of three divisions; Administration, Jail, Penitentiary and is headed by Commissioner Rocco A. Pozzi.

Information on blocked numbers or any inmate phone related problems please call 1-866-230-7761  To set up a phone account call 800 483 8314 to block your phone from inmate calls complete the "phone block form." 

 
Pay cash bail with a credit card.:

Requirements for posting a credit card bail:
The card holder MUST be present at the facility.
The card holder MUST have valid Photo ID with valid Master, Visa, Discover or American Express credit card. Credit card Bail will only be accepted for bails $10,000 or less, cash may be added to this amount if over
this amount.

Victim Information and Notification:

1-888-VINE-4NY Crime victims can now use their touch-tone phones to make toll-free calls to obtain information about offenders in the custody of Westchester County Department of Correction.

New Visit Information:

Visitor processing shall begin one (1) hour prior to the start of the visiting session and onclude one (1) hour and fifteen (15) minutes prior to the end of the visiting session. Inmate contact visits will be held in the visiting rooms on a "first come, first serve" basis. Visits will only be from 09:00am to 4:30PM seven days a week .
